Locals didn’t buy it, warning it would spike electricity prices, drain countless gallons of water, and bring noise and traffic headaches.
Minutes before the city council’s big vote on rezoning, Google yanked the plan-sparking applause from the crowd.
Google could still come back after a waiting period, so the battle might just be on pause.
