President Trump suggested that he wants to see the Department of Justice prosecute Dr. Anthony Fauci for contempt of Congress after the Senate Homeland Security Committee passed a resolution and referred him for prosecution on Thursday.
The Daily Caller’s Reagan Reese asked Trump if the DOJ should indict Fauci in the Oval Office, and Trump referenced the prosecution of Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro for the same offense.
Bannon and Navarro both served four months in prison after defying subpoenas from the January 6 committee.
“Well, you know, they prosecuted Peter Navarro and they prosecuted Steve Bannon, two very decent people, over something that essentially was never prosecuted before. And there are sort of telltale signs of similarity,” Trump told reporters. “I saw one of the analysts said they used to laugh at it in the Justice Department when something like that was referred, but Merrick Garland prosecuted two very decent people and sent them to jail.”
“So, when you see that happen, you sort of say, maybe he should,” Trump added, noting that Fauci’s crimes were “far more serious than a lot of crimes.”

But they prosecuted two people when nothing like that has ever taken place before.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee passed a resolution to hold Fauci in contempt of Congress for his refusal to answer questions during a hearing last week.
The committee’s chairman, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) said he would “immediately send it to the Department of Justice and ask them to continue proceedings to come down with an indictment.”
News also broke on Wednesday that the Senate committee obtained a copy of Fauci’s pandemic-era iPhone, giving them access to even more evidence of Fauci’s many lies and potentially answers to questions he refused to answer before the committee.
