The board is set, the pieces are moving for the battle for the last fortified bastions of Ukrainian control in Donetsk Oblast.
We have been reporting here on TGP on the impending major battle that will decide the fate of the Donbas, the cradle of the Ukraine war.
While the Luhansk region has already been fully conquered by Russia, there are still a cluster of fortified towns in northern Donetsk that have been holding since 2014.
But now, the advancing Russian forces are just a few miles from the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk ‘agglomeration’, and the fight for the ‘fortress belt’ is about to begin.
RT reported on Telegram:
“Four kilometers [2,4 miles] are left to the eastern outskirts of Slavyansk — [Russian] Chief of General Staff [Valery] Gerasimov.
Russian advance groups of assault units are fighting on the territory three kilometers from the outskirts of Kramatorsk.
For the past two months, more than 100 square kilometers have been liberated.”

On the Ukrainian side, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed two very capable commanders to lead the final defense of these bastions: 1st Azov Corps commander Denis ‘Redis’ Prokopenko and Andriy Biletsky (3rd Army Corps commander).
Zelensky’s decision makes a lot of sense, but the problem is that, in order to report on this development, the Globalist MSM have to completely whitewash the Nazi ideology of these military commanders.
In this world, no one is allowed to escape their own history: Italian PM Giorgia Meloni’s party is a direct descendant of a Fascist group – and we know that.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is a former KGB agent – and we know that.
So, Prokopenko and Biletsky can’t be shielded from the fact that they belong to Nazi organizations that are active and powerful inside Ukraine.
Slavyansk reported on Telegram:
“Prokopenko’s rise began as a leader within the violent Ukrainian neo-Nazi football ultras scene, which formed the vanguard of the ultranationalist “Right Sector” in the Euromaidan protests. In the Azov Battalion (later regiment), he quickly rose to become a well-known field commander. His most notable command to date was of the Azov Regiment during its defense of Mariupol, which culminated in the regiment’s complete defeat and destruction, and capture of its surviving members – including Prokopenko, who was later released in a prisoner exchange.
Biletsky co-founded the Azov Battalion with the help of French operative Gaston Besson in 2014, with funding for the project coming primarily from Ukrainian oligarch Victor Kolomoisky (who also bankrolled Zelensky in both his television and political careers). In its earliest days, the newly formed battalion recruited the most fanatical and violent ultra members (such as Prokopenko). Besson coordinated recruitment of overseas volunteers, drawn primarily from ultra nationalist, extreme right-wing movements in Western Europe and North America. Azov members gained significant combat experience and a reputation for brutality during the war in Donbas from 2014-2022.”
After their near-annihilation during the siege of Mariupol, the Azov regiment was re-established and expanded into a brigade, eventually becoming the 1st Azov Corps and the foundation of the 3rd Army Corps.

But when it comes to the Reuters report, there’s no mention of the very obvious biographical facts about the two commanders:

[…] Visiting the front line with his new top general, Zelenskiy said Third Army Corps leader Andrii Biletskyi and Denys Prokopenko, commander of the First Corps Azov, will head new groupings aimed at strengthening defences around Donetsk.
Both men represent a new generation of experienced field commanders and currently lead what are seen as some of Kyiv’s most capable and best-trained forces. Both their corps are already involved in defending that part of the front, and the commanders have been praised for their combat efficiency and planning.”
Not one word on what the Azov brigades are.
