Rep. Ilhan Omar posted a video on Facebook in which she dramatically claims that Minnesota liberals successfully “defeated” ICE’s efforts in the state.
The 10-second clip shows the Minnesota Democrat sitting down, adjusting her blazer, and taking a deep breath as if preparing for a serious documentary interview, complete with dramatic background music.
The video is her take on a social media trend that began on TikTok, where people pretend they are getting ready for a Netflix documentary interview on something interesting or strange that happened in their life.
A text overlay on Rep. Omar’s video begins, “Me preparing for the documentary on how we defeated ICE’s racist terror campaign in Minnesota.”
Her caption adds, “We’re built different in Minnesota,” along with a flexed arm emoji and a blue heart.

Late last year, the Trump administration launched Operation Metro Surge, deploying thousands of federal agents to Minnesota, particularly the Twin Cities area.
The operation resulted in more than 3,500 arrests of individuals in the country illegally.
Rioters organized and attempted to stop ICE enforcement, leading to the deaths of two anti-ICE agitators in separate incidents.
Many of those detained were later deported.
It has been described by federal officials as one of the largest immigration enforcement actions in the area’s history.
