After a Mexican government official Carlos Manzo was killed by cartel members over the weekend, Trump is threatening to send boots on the ground. Mexico just like Venezuela is potentially going to get invaded with the pretext of combating drug cartels. How many war fronts can the U.S. handle? We all know something deeper is going on and this isn’t just about drug cartels.
Trump Admin Planning to Send US Troops to Mexico to Combat Cartels—Report
President Donald Trump’s administration is creating detailed plans to send U.S. troops and intelligence officers into Mexico to combat drug cartels, NBC News reported Monday, citing two U.S. officials and two former senior U.S. officials.
“The Trump administration is committed to utilizing an all-of-government approach to address the threats cartels pose to American citizens,” a senior Trump administration official told NBC in response to the report.
Newsweek reached out to the Pentagon and White House for comment via email Monday morning. The Department of State deferred to the Department of Defense.

UN experts say US strikes against Venezuela in international waters amount to ‘extrajudicial executions’
Continuing U.S. military attacks on boats and individuals accused of trafficking narcotics through the Caribbean and potentially in association with Venezuela has drawn differing reactions from the Trump administration and members of Congress.
Questions by legislators in Washington abound on whether they should have the official say in terms of escalated military aggression off the South American coast, where both Venezuela and Columbia have been embroiled with the U.S. as tensions have risen in recent weeks—in addition to claims that briefings have been held but have shut out some of the highest-elected lawmakers due to partisanship or otherwise.
The NBC report said the administration wanted to operate in coordination with the Mexican government but was also considering conducting the campaign without Mexico’s approval, which would mark a significant violation of the country’s sovereignty. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has increased law enforcement cooperation with the US and has allowed the CIA to ramp up surveillance flights along the border, but she has repeatedly ruled out US military intervention in her country.
“The United States is not going to come to Mexico with the military,” Sheinbaum said in August. “We cooperate, we collaborate, but there is not going to be an invasion. That is ruled out, absolutely ruled out.”
The Mexican leader has also condemned US strikes on boats in the region, saying she “doesn’t agree” with the policy. The US recently bombed several alleged drug vessels in the Eastern Pacific, and in one case, the Mexican Navy had to rescue a survivor.
