Hakeem Jeffries Rejects DSA Agenda — But Welcomes Them Into Democrats’ ‘Broad Caucus’ (VIDEO) * The Gateway Pundit * by Ben Kew

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has said that while he does not agree with the program of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), they will form part of a “broad caucus” if Democrats take the House this coming November.

Openly socialist candidates are gaining serious traction in the Democratic Party over the recent primary season, most notably in Michigan where DSA member and proud Islamo-Marxist Abdul El-Sayed is the party’s candidate in November’s Senate race.

In an interview on NBC’s ‘Meet The Press,’ host Kristen Welker asked Jeffries whether he supported their platform.

Here is a transcript of the exchange:

JEFFRIES: Well, what I can say is that I do not support defunding the police. I do not support open borders. I do not support abolishing the Senate.

We’re focused on actually solving problems that hardworking American taxpayers want us to solve, which is to lower the high cost of living in a situation where life is far too expensive in this country.

That’s the Democratic agenda. That’s what House Democrats are fighting to achieve.”

WELKER: Do you think, though, that there is room in the Democratic Party, under the tent of the Democratic Party, for Democratic Socialists, is it big enough?

JEFFRIES: Well, listen, I don’t support the DSA agenda, as has been articulated, by the DSA itself.

Now you’re going to have individual members, who have been elected in Democratic primaries and if they are elected in the general in November, will be part of the House Democratic caucus. It’s going to be a broad caucus.

Despite his seemingly moderate rhetoric, Jeffries made clear this week that Democrats intend to expand and pack the Supreme Court if or when they take back power.

“There are a variety of different options that are on the table, and I think we can’t foreclose on any single one of them,” he said.
