Among those murdered by Muslim terrorists on 9/11 were the crews of the four planes that were hijacked.

On Friday, flight crews came together, in uniform, to honor their colleagues at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, PA.

The memorial includes the Wall of Names for passengers and crew, the Tower of Voices, a visitor center, and the crash site itself, which is treated as a burial ground and is not walked on by the public.

The Association of Flight Attendants- CWA shared a letter to their members and honored those who died that day.

Dear Flight Attendants and Our Aviation Family,

We will Never Forget. No matter the uniform we wear, the routes we fly, or the years we have worn our wings we will always remember the events of September 11th, lift up our heroes, and do everything in our power to ensure the events are never repeated.

Everything changed on September 11th, 2001. We are not only first responders to emergencies affecting the health and safety of passengers and crewmembers, we are also our nation’s last line of defense in aviation security. Over the past 25 years, tens of thousands of Flight Attendants have joined our ranks understanding the weight of this responsibility.

This day highlights tremendous bravery of Flight Attendants. Our heroes on those four fateful flights acted as first responders. They relayed the first intelligence of the day that alerted our nation and our fellow crewmembers on Flight 93 who in turn acted with the passengers in unity. There were Black, White, Latino, and Asian people, a pregnant woman, a gay rugby player fighting for marriage equality, democrats, republicans, independents, but once they knew the truth they acted as one with single purpose, trying to save their own lives but without a doubt to protect our country and the lives of countless others at the Capitol.

Twenty-five Flight Attendants, eight Pilots, and three Customer Service Agents died on September 11th. Today, and every day, we honor their memory. We will Never Forget.
