Eric Swalwell’s “democracy” mission was apparently a cover for something much darker. A bombshell report from Mediaite reveals that the former Democratic congressman is accused of sending “videos of him masturbating” and other perverted messages to women via Snapchat.
The allegations come just weeks after Swalwell resigned from Congress following a wave of sexual misconduct claims.
Once hailed as the “Snapchat king of Congress,” Swalwell publicly justified his use of the platform by claiming it was a tool to “restore a lot of faith that people have in their democracy.” However, unsealed records and testimony from “more than a dozen” women suggest the platform’s disappearing message feature served a more predatory purpose.
According to reports from CNN and the New York Times, women describe a pattern of graphic harassment. One former congressional staffer claimed he sent “nude photos of himself and videos of him masturbating” which showed his face and naked body.
“His stories would be his congressional content, but then he would be sending me dick pics,” she alleged.
The scandal is not an isolated incident. Swalwell reportedly tracked down a 19-year-old hostess on LinkedIn to send flirty messages. Even after his departure from Congress, reports indicate he continued to message former staffers.
