The war between Iran and Israel is an urgent reminder of the dangers of allowing foreign adversaries to establish footholds near critical infrastructure. Just as Israel embedded covert drone bases inside Iran, China has spent years quietly acquiring 278,000 acres of American farmland, much of it surrounding key military installations like Grand Forks Air Force Base and Camp Pendleton.
Serious question. After seeing what Israel did to Iran last night, why are we not taking back the CCP farmland TODAY? pic.twitter.com/chQ1TxYRia

Lawmakers are alarmed. Senator Ted Cruz has introduced the Protecting Military Installations and Ranges Act, a bill designed to block foreign adversaries from purchasing land within 100 miles of defense sites. The legislation would empower the Department of Defense to prevent construction on sites under federal investigation, ensuring that hostile actors cannot expand their foothold near sensitive locations.
The urgency cannot be overstated. Washington bureaucrats continue slow-walking critical reforms, allowing Beijing’s strategy to unfold unchecked. The federal government has clear authority under existing statutes to seize these properties through eminent domain, yet action remains elusive.
The parallels to Israel’s operation inside Iran are unsettling. For years, Mossad infiltrated Iran’s military infrastructure, smuggling operatives and weapons deep into enemy territory before striking at nuclear and missile sites. China’s farmland acquisitions could provide a similar platform for intelligence gathering, surveillance, or military disruption, all within U.S. borders.
The warning signs are there. The Government Accountability Office released a report in 2024, highlighting the national security risks posed by foreign ownership of U.S. farmland. Yet despite bipartisan concerns, China continues expanding its holdings, cementing its position near strategic assets.
Every delay empowers Beijing’s ability to encircle U.S. military infrastructure, just as Iran failed to detect Israel’s long-term infiltration. America must act now. The solution is clear. Crush the loopholes, enforce the law, and put national defense above globalist real estate deals.
