Another day, another car bomb attack from Kiev.
The more Ukraine loses the war, the more they resort to asymmetric tactics (a.k.a. terrorism).
And yes, Ukraine is losing: check it out.
The summer illusion that Kiev was winning on the battlefield is over, with Moscow again conquering more territory than Ukraine recovers in July.
Ukrainians are afraid of the coming winter.
Ukrainian energy minister Denys Shmyhal tells Politico about the hard days to come in the winter, with power plants and the electric grid that have not been sufficiently restored.
“Putin wants to finish off our energy system and derail our economy and weapons production. […] He also hopes in winter our society will break from exhaustion, and pressure leadership to sign the surrender.”
Russia is striking hard the Ukrainian Black Sea ports, essentially shutting all maritime trade.
To top it off, US President Donald J. Trump has reportedly denied Volodymyr Zelensky’s request for more Patriot missiles.
So, with all that, the Kiev regime is going for the rogue bomb attacks, mere days after a woman tried to deliver a ‘gift bomb’ to a top Russian general in a Moscow restaurant, killing and maiming several people.
In Yekaterinburg, the car of Vladimir Tkachuk, CEO of Uraldronzavod, which produces “Upyr” drones for the Russian army, was blown up.

The Daily Express reported:
“The head of a Russian company manufacturing FPV attack drones for the war in Ukraine is fighting for his life in intensive care after a car bomb explosion near Yekaterinburg. Vladimir Tkachuk, 35, chief executive of Uraldronzavod, was seriously injured when an explosive device detonated beneath his Mercedes-Benz in the settlement of Bolshoy Istok, just outside the city in Sverdlovsk region.
Local reports said the blast left him in a critical condition, with doctors battling to save him. His driver and bodyguard was killed at the scene. Investigators have opened a criminal case on charges of attempted murder by a method dangerous to the public. Russian law enforcement has not issued an official statement, but emergency services sources confirmed the details of the attack and Tkachuk’s transfer to intensive care.”

Tkachuk’s company produces the Upyr first-person-view (FPV) drones.

Kyiv Post reported:
“Tkachuk also runs the pro-war Russian Telegram channel ‘Povyornutye na voyne’ (Obsessed With War), which has more than 660,000 subscribers.
FPV drones have become a critical weapon on both sides of the war in Ukraine. These low-cost, maneuverable drones are typically used as kamikaze weapons, allowing operators to guide them directly into targets using a video feed transmitted to goggles or a screen.
[…] The car bombing follows a pattern of targeted attacks against Russian military figures and defense industry personnel since the start of [the war] in February 2022.”
