Brisbane pollies throw North Queenslanders to the crocs: Increasing calls for new North Queensland State

Must read

Six urban Members of the Queensland Parliament from the South East corner have kowtowed to Labor and Green’s lunatic lobby and a handful of Aborigines, throwing North Queenslanders to the crocs.

Three Liberals, two Labor and a supposed Independent are members of an advisory committee which has vetoed a Katters Australian Party’s Crocodile Control and Conservation bill designed to protect North Queenslanders from any more savage crocodile attacks.

The highly intelligent advisory committee said councils should put up more warning signs, but did not stipulate in what language. Scattered crocodile warning signs today are printed in German and English.  But what about the Italian, Swedish, Dutch and all the other Central European tourists who swarm over North Queensland every tourist season?

There would be no hope of warning the million or more Chinese, Japanese and French people visiting The Whitsundays to Thursday Island areas about crocs. They normally can’t say ‘boo’’ in Australian lingo while signs could display ‘free piss and boobs’ but they would walk right past and take a swim in the nuddy anyway as Parisians often do.

Proponent of the bill, Shane Knuth, Member, for Hill, which takes in the croc-infested Tully, Johnstone and Russell Rivers yesterday was ropeable. He said he has had enough of Brisbane dictating to the north and this was a perfect example of why a new North Queensland state should be formed.

“I have my constituents pleading with me to get back their once safe waterways that nobody can go near,” charged Mr Knuth.

At the Palm Cove, Cairns public inquiry the panel assembled a few local Aborigines present giving them an exclusive forum to respond to questions.

The awe-struck Liberal Member for Redcliffe who had most likely never seen one of our indigenous brothers up close in real life was mesmerised by vague comments from him about crocodile numbers.

“Ooooh! could you please tell me your cultural and spiritual connection to these wonderful animals?” an adoring Kerri-Anne Dooley asked.

There has been a Facebook wipeout for the Liberal and Labor parties with thousands of adverse comments from across Australia, in particular North Queensland since the Committee submissions and hearings began in May.

It seems that around 95 per cent of commenters support culling crocs. These urbane MP’s are safe as there are no crocs to speak of in their Brisbane electorates – yet – but we have heard a few could start appearing in their houseyards.

Snake catchers no help here Members. No chance of shooting one either because Liberals, Nationals and Labor just hate guns and there is no chance one would be found under their beds.  Only the lunatic lobby lives there.

This is why Premier David Crisafulli, a former Ingham lad, has never supported culling crocs, which in itself is a Liberal conundrum, as the district and his farm surrounds are alive with salties.

That is why North Queensland ended up with an inert committee of Brisbanites which has never seen a real croc in the wild. David knew the outcome before it started.

The Independent Labor Member for Noosa, Sandy Bolton, usually an intelligent lady, should have taken a closer look at the Noosa River, nearly on the doorstep of her abode, where a fisherman found a salt water croc last week.

Will Sandy dip her toe into this iconic river now? Nobody in the north including the Atherton Tablelands can go near their fresh waterways now so it would be poetic justice if half a dozen marauding salties were discovered at Tewantin.

What would you tell the Japs visiting there Sandy? “Read the sign, it’s in German.”
