Letter to the Editor
In 1983 Bob Hawke called a National Summit because he didn’t know how to get the economy working, everyone else knew that housing construction and farming income created employment, investment and cash flow.
The Budget is a classic example of Labor still not understanding how the economy works, it appears beyond their intellectual capacity or understanding. Few if any Labor members having started a business on their own and made it successful and while the PM Albanese has lived on public money nearly all his life, others appear mainly employees. There is big difference in knowledge between being an employee and an employer, that few politicians appear to understand.
The older people had to plan their own future retirement income long before superannuation was established, they invested, brought and built houses, factories and farms; They relied upon negative gearing to assist provide their retirement income pension, now these lying Labor politicians who promised not to change negative gearing have done so.
Pop and Nan worked hard all their life, they were honest people of great integrity and prepared for their retirement, they could never afford new homes so brought old derelict ones and renovated and modernised them beautifully, now the government is to scrap negative gearing.
You hurt Nan and Pop and we hurt you at the next election, with votes from children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; plus all our relatives and friends.
Labor had better take note, that in school a long time ago we were taught that honesty was a prime requirement of life and respect, and those without honesty were fraudsters, conmen and criminals, which has now been reinforced.
